"I like the idea of bending reality just enough to make it interesting."

Imaginary Realist Pat Margis takes us on a journey with the earth, sky and beyond. The paintings often question and bend reality. They're a reflection of personal as well as worldly experiences. All done with a sense of beauty and aesthetics. And they're often mixed with elements of abstract, figurative and storytelling.

“I like the idea of bending reality just enough to make it interesting. It gives me the extra tools I need to say what I want on canvas.

And telling stories with my art gives me a purpose to create. It’s the way I communicate and speak my thoughts. I see myself as a part of history. My paintings reflect my current state of mind in a complex world. There’s lots to tell but I don’t expect the viewer to always understand. Just look, enjoy and reflect.”
